Default Renters insurance?

What is a good company to have renters insurance through, that is still pretty cheap?
I go through Geico on my Auto insurance and they are very expensive for anything other than Auto insurance.

have you tried your car insurance company-seems if you insure everything through the same company the rates are less. State Farm is like that.

Renters insurance, well, there's not much competition for it. They're all about the same - $150 a year will get you a decent policy with replacement cost and $20,000 of stuff, just about anywhere.

The FIRST place to look is the same place that has your car insurance, because even if it's $50 more than everyone else, if it saves you 10% or 20% off your car insurance with a "package discount", it's still cheaper.

After that, any A rated, admitted carrier is going to be fine. Check with a local, independent agent.
