Hi, I am doing a project for school, and I wanted to know that if you decide to purchase renter's insurance for an apartment, does the price include your roommate, too, or does your roommate have to get coverage on their own? Thanks

I just got renters insurance from Allstate and the company I am renting my apartment from made every roommate get their own policy. It was only like $70 for the year. and I have coverage up to $10,000 dollars. I don't own more then $2500 I think.
