Default Will my insurance company pay for a rental car if my car is getting fixed?

its from an accident but the claim is closed...the mechanic is taking a very long time getting this fixed..i am super frustrated...because time is counting down and my husband is coming home from Iraq and he should be here in a week...as you can imagine i have errands to run....and i am feeling anxious that this car won't be ready before he gets home and that would be stressful to him and i really want him to feel relaxed...any suggestions....just call my insurance company...cause i really can't go much longer without a car...its going on three weeks now without a car...the mechanic says to call his this Wednesday that he has to paint the doors change the lock and then it should be done....
