Most insurance companies use a look back period of 6 months to a year for prexisting. So if you haven't seen a doctor or taken medicine for this condition for at least the past year you should be okay.
You can go to a doctor for the condition the day your insurance becomes effective.
Here is an example of Pre-existing language:
Pre-existing Conditions are those health conditions which were diagnosed
or treated by a Provider during the 12 months before the coverage effective date. Any Pre-existing Condition will be subject to a waiting
period of 365 days.
