I think it depends on more than the age of the car. Take into consideration engine size, safety features, location, and the driver. There are a ton of factors.

Consider yourself pretty lucky to pay $354 every six months. My car is 12 years old and costs me almost $200/month to insure. This is mostly because of my driving history, but my car also barely has any safety features. No ABS, 2 airbags. I've also played around with quotes and have gotten similar rates for a 3 year old car with 4-wheel ABS and has 3x the horsepower.
